MOLINA HOUSE
A Single-Family Home Integrated into the Desert Landscape of Murcia (Under Construction)
Location: Molina de Segura (Murcia)
This single-family home is set within a landscape of striking intensity: the desert of Murcia. Located on the outskirts of the city, near Molina de Segura, the house engages in dialogue with the arid echoes of Rambla Salada, the cracked earth of the Abanilla desert, and the eroded contours of the Ajauque and Rambla de Salinas wetlands. These landscapes, characteristic of southeastern Spain, combine the harshness of the climate with an austere beauty, where wind, stone, and light dictate the rules of living.
Against this natural backdrop, the home offers an architecture that does not compete, but adapts and responds. Expansive outdoor areas, a swimming pool as a contemporary oasis, and an open spatial arrangement allow the family to reshape their way of life—stepping away from urban noise and embracing a calmer, more grounded existence.
This project not only meets the climatic demands of the Murcian desert, but also reflects on how to inhabit it, offering a sensitive, respectful, and fully integrated response.
