Reggae-Inspired Café in Granada
This project tackled the challenge of fitting a full café program into a usable area of less than 30 m². The architectural intervention made natural use of an existing backdrop of masonry and exposed brick, turning them into the spatial identity and landscape of the place.
Inspired by the clients’ passion for reggae music, its free spirit, love for nature, itinerant Jamaican sound systems, and the worlds of coffee and ecology, the design embodied all these values architecturally.
To solve the programmatic needs, two OSB boxes (made of recycled and affordable wood particleboard) were designed to house uses and storage, simplifying and compacting the volume. The result is a dialogue between ecological materiality and function, creating an atmosphere that aligns the space with the identity of its users. This project reinforces the position of Granada-based architect and interior designer as key figure in sustainable and small-format design.
